It was time to wash our car. Really time. We had let it go for a few months, and it was coated in bugs from at least a dozen trips to and from San Diego, covered in a fine layer of desert dust that blows around here all the time, spotted with bird droppings from the denizens of trees we park beneath for shade, and streaked with dried window cleaner we’d used to wash the windows from time to time.
We pulled into a local car wash, scrubbed off the bugs, and went through the tunnel. Then we spent another twenty minutes wiping and vacuuming everything. The result was really nice.
Of course, our next trip to San Diego will ruin it all, but for a few days at least we’ll look good!
